COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Arts Management program at Trent University is a 6.0-credit graduate degree designed to prepare students for leadership roles in the cultural and creative sectors through a combination of academic study, professional training, and experiential learning. The program includes 4.0 required credits from core graduate-level courses such as ARTM 5000H, ARTM 5500H, ARTM 5020H, CSID 5702H, CSID 5202H, MSMG 5030H, MSMG 5300H, and MSMG 5940H, which collectively build strong foundations in arts management, cultural policy, strategic planning, and organizational leadership. Students also complete 0.5 credit in COOP 5000H, which provides a structured experiential learning component through a professional placement in an arts or cultural organization. In addition, 1.0 credit is completed through either ARTM 5700Y or ARTM 5800Y, allowing students to engage in advanced study or applied research in arts management contexts. The program is completed with 0.5 credit of elective coursework, enabling some flexibility to explore complementary areas of interest. Overall, the curriculum integrates theory, applied practice, and experiential learning to develop students’ skills in administration, policy analysis, and creative problem-solving.
