COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science Honours in Economics at Trent University is a 20.0-credit program designed to provide advanced training in economic theory, quantitative methods, and applied economic analysis. The program includes 9.5 required ECON credits covering core and upper-level courses such as ECON 1010H, ECON 1020H, ECON 1250H, ECON 2000H, ECON 2010H, ECON 2200H, ECON 3000H, ECON 3010H, ECON 3200H, ECON 3250H, ECON 4000H, ECON 4041H, and ECON 4050H. These courses build a progression from foundational concepts in microeconomics and macroeconomics to more advanced topics such as econometrics, economic modelling, and policy analysis. Students also complete additional ECON credits at the 3000 level or higher, ensuring depth in specialized areas of study. Certain courses such as ECON 2000H, 2010H, and 2610H are recognized as equivalent to upper-level credits for meeting degree requirements, helping students satisfy the requirement for at least 7.0 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level.
