COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business & Science (B.Sc.) Joint Major program at Trent University is a unique interdisciplinary degree designed to combine business administration with scientific disciplines such as Computing Systems, Information Systems, Forensics, Mathematics, Psychology, and Environmental Resource Science. This Honours Bachelor of Science program requires 8.5 credits in Business Administration alongside a chosen science major, providing students with both technical scientific knowledge and strong business skills. In the first year, students build a foundation in management and economics through courses such as Contemporary Issues in Management, Financial Accounting, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics. In the second year, the focus expands to core business functions including management skills, marketing, organizational behaviour, managerial accounting, organization theory, and statistics for economics, with additional recommended study in human resources management. The third year emphasizes advanced business concepts such as strategic management, financial management, and business ethics, along with elective credits at the upper level. In the final year, students complete an advanced 4000-level business course, further strengthening their professional and analytical capabilities. This program prepares graduates for competitive careers by integrating business expertise with scientific or technical specialization, giving them a strong advantage in fields such as finance, analytics, consulting, technology, and research-driven industries.
