COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science in Psychology program at Trent University is designed to provide students with a strong scientific foundation in the study of behavior and mental processes. The program is offered alongside a BA option, but the BSc emphasizes science-based learning and analytical skills. For the single-major General BSc, students must complete a total of 15.0 credits, including 6.0 credits in Psychology. Core Psychology requirements include PSYC 1020H, 1030H, 2018H, and 2019H, which establish fundamental knowledge and research competencies. Students are also required to complete additional Psychology credits from categories A2, B2, A3, and B3, ensuring exposure to a broad range of topics, along with at least 1.0 credit at the 3000 level or higher and an additional 1.0 Psychology credit beyond the specified courses. A key component of the BSc program is the requirement to complete 11.0 science credits overall, including at least 1.5 science credits outside of Psychology and cross-listed courses, reinforcing interdisciplinary scientific understanding. Additionally, a 1.0 Mathematics credit is mandatory, which can be fulfilled through PSYC 2018H and 2019H. Students must also meet general university degree requirements, including completing 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.
