COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science Honours program in Computing Systems at Trent University is a 20.0-credit degree that combines core computing, mathematics, and a chosen interdisciplinary area of focus. The program requires students to complete 15.0 credits in Computing Systems and related foundational subjects, including 6.0 COIS credits covering topics such as programming, data structures, systems analysis, web development, and software design. Students also complete 1.5 MATH credits to build essential quantitative and analytical skills, along with additional COIS courses at both introductory and advanced levels, including upper-year electives in areas such as software development, databases, artificial intelligence, and project management. A key feature of the program is the requirement to complete 4.0 credits in a chosen area of focus from any Honours subject offered at Trent (excluding Computer Science), allowing students to specialize in a complementary discipline and create a multidisciplinary skill set.
