COURSE CURRICULUM

The Entrepreneurship Specialization within the Bachelor of Business Administration or Business Administration joint-major program at Trent University is designed for students who want to develop the skills and mindset needed to create, manage, and grow new ventures. To earn this specialization, students must complete 4.0 credits with a minimum grade of 65% in each course, ensuring strong competence in entrepreneurial and applied business areas. The core 2.0 credits focus on essential entrepreneurship foundations, including Managerial and Market Research, Entrepreneurship, New Venture Planning and Design, and Principles of Online Marketing. These courses help students understand how to identify opportunities, develop business ideas, and build viable startup models in both traditional and digital environments. The additional 2.0 credits allow students to broaden their learning through courses in areas such as Indigenous community economic development, advertising, retail marketing, social enterprise and innovation, operations management, organizational analysis, and sustainability practices. Students may also gain practical experience through a field placement course. Overall, this specialization emphasizes creativity, innovation, and applied business thinking, preparing graduates for careers in entrepreneurship, small business management, consulting, social enterprise development, and leadership roles in both private and public sector organizations, as well as supporting students who wish to launch their own ventures.
