COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts Honours in Economics at Trent University is a 20.0-credit program designed to provide advanced training in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and policy-oriented thinking. The program includes 9.5 required ECON credits covering both foundational and upper-year courses such as ECON 1010H, ECON 1020H, ECON 1250H, ECON 2000H, ECON 2010H, ECON 2200H, ECON 3000H, ECON 3010H, ECON 3200H, ECON 3250H, ECON 4000H, ECON 4041H, and ECON 4050H. These courses build a structured progression from introductory microeconomics and macroeconomics to more advanced topics like econometrics, economic modelling, and applied policy analysis. Students are also required to complete additional ECON credits beyond the core sequence, including upper-level courses that deepen specialization in economics. Certain intermediate courses, such as ECON 2000H, ECON 2010H, and ECON 2610H, are recognized as equivalent to 3000-level credits for the purpose of meeting the requirement for at least 7.0 credits at the 3000 or 4000 level in the Honours program.
