COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts Co-op program in Archaeology at Trent University combines the standard Archaeology BA Honours degree with structured work-integrated learning through a competitive co-op stream. Admission to the co-op program is direct-entry and limited, with the option for current students to apply later on a competitive basis if spaces are available. To remain in the co-op stream, students must meet academic progression requirements, including completing COOP 2000H with at least 70% and COOP 4000H with at least 65%, while maintaining a minimum 75% cumulative average across academic terms. Students are also required to receive satisfactory evaluations during three mandatory work terms. Failure to meet COOP 2000H requirements results in withdrawal from the co-op program, though students may continue in the regular Archaeology degree. The program includes three non-credit work terms: COOP 2100P, 3100P, and 4100P, which provide practical professional experience in archaeology and related fields. Eligibility for the first work term requires completion of COOP 2000H with at least 70% and a minimum of 10.0 academic credits. Students are expected to follow a structured work-study sequence, though adding minors or specializations may extend degree duration. Academic advising is recommended to ensure proper course and co-op planning throughout the program.
