COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at Trent University is a single-major General program requiring 15.0 total credits, including 6.0 credits specifically in Anthropology (ANTH). Students begin with 2.0 core credits from foundational courses such as ANTH 1001H, 2001H, 2123H, and 2410H, which introduce key concepts in human evolution, culture, and archaeological methods. They must also complete 0.5 credit from either ANTH 3123H or ANTH 3991H, offering opportunities for advanced study or research-focused learning. In addition, students are required to complete 1.5 credits at the 3000 level or higher, ensuring exposure to more specialized and in-depth topics within the discipline. A further 2.0 ANTH credits are required beyond these, including at least 0.5 credit from each of Categories A, B, and C, allowing students to explore different subfields such as cultural, biological, and archaeological anthropology. For those in the joint-major with Global Development Studies, specific course substitutions are permitted at the 2000 level.
