COURSE CURRICULUM

In the first term of the Film and Television Production program, you will dive into the creative process of screenwriting, learning techniques to craft engaging film scripts and stories. You’ll also study camera and lighting fundamentals, including camera movements, framing, composition, and lighting for multiple subjects. Additionally, you’ll explore professional techniques for scene recreation and the basics of sound recording and mixing for film and video, covering the physics of sound, relevant equipment, and the roles of sound recordists and boom operators. In the second term, the focus shifts to digital video editing with industry-standard software, understanding mood, transitions, working with dialogue and audio, and gaining experience in television control rooms, including recording and broadcasting systems. You’ll also advance your cinematography skills by developing both technical and artistic approaches to framing and lighting, while learning the roles and responsibilities of a film or video director. The final term explores semiology, analyzing framing, editing, and sound as communication tools. You’ll study the film industry’s structure, including key players, financing, and contracts, and gain practical experience producing a complete web series from scripting to distribution. The term concludes with post-production techniques such as assembling footage, color grading, sound design, and titling, integrating all previous learning for a comprehensive understanding of film and television production.
