COURSE CURRICULUM

The Juris Doctor program at Thompson Rivers University is structured to provide students with the comprehensive knowledge and practical skills required for success in the legal profession. Over the course of three years of full-time study, students complete a total of 96 credits, covering a wide range of foundational and advanced legal subjects. The curriculum is primarily delivered through in-person classes, ensuring direct interaction with faculty and peers, although a limited number of elective courses may be available in a live online format for added flexibility. Beyond traditional classroom learning, the program strongly emphasizes experiential education, with opportunities such as clinical practice, directed research, externships, and participation in moot court competitions. These activities occur at various times throughout the program and are designed to provide real-world exposure to legal practice, helping students apply theoretical knowledge in practical settings.
