COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Tourism Management is a 120-credit program structured to build both foundational knowledge and specialized expertise in tourism and business. The first 60 credits focus on core principles, while the remaining 60 allow students to pursue areas of interest in greater depth. In the first year, students are introduced to tourism and essential business subjects such as accounting, marketing, communications, and human resources, through courses like CMNS 1810, MATH 1100, ACCT 1000, JOUR 2060, and several TMGT courses, along with one elective. The second year strengthens this foundation with courses in economics, tourism management, and data analysis, including ECON 1220 and 2220, TMGT 2010 and 2250, and either GEOG 2700 or STAT 1200, plus a choice of event or hospitality-related courses and three electives. Students can also enroll in CO-OP 1000 to enter the co-operative education program. In the third and fourth years, students complete advanced core courses and choose a specialization path, either through concentrations such as Adventure Studies, Festivals and Events, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, or Resort Experience, or by pursuing a major in areas like Adventure Studies, Entrepreneurship, or Tourism Studies. The program concludes with a capstone project that integrates learning into practical application.
