COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology requires students to complete a minimum of 54 credits in Psychology within a 120-credit degree, combining both foundational and advanced study of human behavior and mental processes. At the lower level, students complete 21 credits, including core introductory courses such as Introduction to Psychology I and II, Research Methods, Psychological Data Analysis, and Biological Psychology. In addition, students select 6 credits from 2000-level courses covering areas like personality, cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, and abnormal psychology, along with optional electives such as human sexuality or drugs and behaviour. At the upper level, students complete 33 credits in Psychology, including the required capstone course PSYC 4280, which is taken in the final 30 credits of the degree. Students also take courses from Category A and Category B, ensuring coverage of areas such as clinical psychology, developmental psychology, social behaviour, neuropsychology, cognition, and health psychology. The remaining upper-level credits are completed through additional advanced courses, including research methods, psychology history, and special topics, allowing students to tailor their studies to their interests. Optional upper-level electives such as advanced research apprenticeship or directed studies provide further specialization. This structure ensures strong training in research, theory, and applied psychology.
