COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics Major is structured over four years, beginning with foundational coursework and progressing to advanced mathematical study. In the first year, students complete 30 credits that introduce core concepts in calculus, discrete mathematics, programming, and communication. Key courses include Calculus I and II, Discrete Mathematics, Computer Programming, and English composition or literature-based writing courses, helping students build both quantitative and communication skills. In the second year, students continue with 30 credits that deepen their mathematical understanding through courses such as Discrete Mathematics II, Calculus III, Linear Algebra, and Introduction to Analysis. Students also take English and Statistics at the 2000 level, while some courses may be deferred to later years depending on scheduling. The third and fourth years focus on advanced study and specialization, requiring students to complete multiple upper-level courses in mathematics, statistics, or computer science at the 3000 or 4000 level. This stage allows students to explore more complex topics and apply their knowledge to theoretical and practical problems.
