COURSE CURRICULUM

The Major in Economics program is structured to provide students with a strong foundation in economic theory, quantitative analysis, and interdisciplinary learning. To complete the major, students must earn at least 45 credits in Economics, ensuring in-depth exposure to both core concepts and specialized topics within the field. In addition, students are required to complete 3 credits in Mathematics, which supports the development of analytical and problem-solving skills essential for economic modeling and data interpretation. Another 3 credits must be taken from disciplines within the Arts Division, encouraging a broader academic perspective and the ability to connect economics with other social sciences. Of the 45 Economics credits, a minimum of 30 credits must be completed at the upper level, specifically at the 3000 and 4000 levels, allowing students to engage with more advanced and applied economic topics. Furthermore, at least 6 of these upper-level credits must be at the 4000 level, ensuring exposure to highly advanced coursework that strengthens research and critical thinking abilities. This structured combination of foundational, advanced, and interdisciplinary coursework prepares students for diverse career opportunities or further academic study.
