COURSE CURRICULUM

Theatre Arts major, students must complete a total of 120 credits for the degree, including 54 credits in theatre courses. This includes a minimum of 24 credits in first and second year, covering foundational subjects such as introductory theatre studies, acting, and technical theatre. Required courses include THTR 1100 and 1200, which explore the history and practice of theatre, THTR 1110 and 1210 focusing on basic acting skills, THTR 2120 and 2220 introducing technical theatre and backstage work, and THTR 2110 and 2210 emphasizing character portrayal and intermediate performance. In addition, students must complete at least 30 credits in third and fourth year, with at least six credits at the 4000 level to ensure advanced learning and specialization. For the Theatre Arts concentration, students complete between 30 and 36 theatre credits, or 10 to 12 courses, alongside general degree requirements. This includes 12 to 18 credits in the first two years and 18 to 24 credits in the final years, offering a flexible yet structured approach to developing theatre knowledge and skills.
