Suncrest College

ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Suncrest College was established on July 1, 2023, through the merger of Cumberland College and Parkland College, two long-standing institutions with nearly five decades of service each in Saskatchewan. The merger was the result of a multi-year collaboration initiated in 2018 when the Ministry of Advanced Education encouraged regional colleges to explore sustainable and efficient models for program delivery. In response, the two colleges formed a coalition in 2019, sharing leadership and governance to pilot a joint operational model. This partnership successfully demonstrated benefits such as shared resources, enhanced program development, and operational efficiency, leading to the official merger announcement in January 2022. The formation of Suncrest College was designed to better serve students and communities through increased opportunities, organizational stability, and a stronger alignment with local labour market demands. The unified college now continues to build on the strengths and values of its predecessors, aiming to provide high-quality, accessible education across southeastern Saskatchewan.
