The Human Resources graduate certificate program designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and practical skills essential for effective HR management. In Semester 1, students study foundational topics including Managerial Accounting for Human Resources Management, focusing on sustainable accounting practices that support decision-making and resource allocation. Organizational Training, Reskilling, and Development covers how to assess and deliver employee training programs. Employment Law introduces legal frameworks affecting employer-employee relationships in Ontario and Canada. Talent Management emphasizes recruitment, selection, and skill planning, incorporating new technologies in these processes. The course on Human Resource Management provides a broad overview of HR functions, while Organizational Behaviour explores individual and group dynamics, leadership, motivation, and organizational culture. HRM and Labour Market Evaluations teach analytical skills essential for workforce planning in a global economy. Semester 2 builds on these foundations with Human Resource Planning, teaching strategic resource allocation aligned with business goals. Health and Safety covers occupational health laws, workers’ compensation, and wellness. Total Rewards and Employee Experience focuses on compensation strategies, job evaluation, and benefits programs. Human Resource Management Analytics introduces HR information systems and data analysis techniques to support management decisions. Labour Relations and Collective Agreements explore union-management relations, collective bargaining, and dispute resolution. Two practical courses, Human Resource Workplace and Human Resource Workplace Experience, develop real-world HR skills, preparing students for the workplace by applying both technical and interpersonal HR tasks. Together, these courses equip graduates with a robust understanding of HR principles, legal considerations, analytics, and practical skills necessary for success in diverse organizational settings.
