COURSE CURRICULUM

The CPA program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with diverse skills in computing through a blend of theoretical knowledge and practical experience. In the first semester, foundational courses cover essential communication skills, introductory computer mathematics, databases, C++ programming, networking fundamentals, and a general education course. The second semester builds on programming skills with C# GUI development, intermediate C++ programming, program design principles, web development using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, advanced web programming focusing on client-server interactions and MVC architecture, and another general education course. The third semester prepares students for careers in IT by covering career strategies, PHP programming, advanced object-oriented programming in C++, web programming with modern frameworks like MERN and MEAN, intermediate database management with MySQL, and an introduction to game programming. The fourth semester emphasizes database administration and design, cloud and centralized computing with Linux and mainframe systems, COBOL programming for structured mainframe development, Java application development, software quality assurance with Agile practices, and special topics such as emerging trends and ethics in computing. In the fifth semester, students deepen their knowledge with Java web frameworks, JCL and utilities for mainframe programming, a work placement for real-world experience, advanced COBOL programming on IBM mainframes, and systems analysis and design focusing on various software development life cycles. The final semester continues work placement, introduces CICS command-level programming for mainframe applications, web services focusing on RESTful APIs, mobile application development using the Android platform, and an online general education course. This structured program ensures students gain expertise in desktop, web, mobile, and mainframe platforms while fostering problem-solving, critical thinking, and professional readiness for careers in software development and IT.
