COURSE CURRICULUM

The Office Administration – Legal/Health Services program offers students a comprehensive curriculum that prepares them for a variety of administrative roles in both legal and healthcare environments. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills in computerized accounting, communications, office procedures, spreadsheets, word processing, and presentation software. Semester 2 continues to develop these competencies with intermediate word processing and spreadsheet applications, workplace readiness, database management, and career communication. Students also begin to focus on specialized fields with the introduction of legal and medical office procedures. In Semester 3, students integrate software skills in practical projects and expand their knowledge with courses in medical terminology, transcription, electronic spreadsheets, and document production for both legal and medical environments. They also gain workplace readiness and professionalism through focused instruction. Semester 4 provides advanced training in medical and legal office procedures, terminology, and document production, as well as accounting systems for law offices. A major component of this final semester is the work placement course, where students apply their acquired skills in a real-world office setting, reinforcing their ability to manage documents, use accounting and spreadsheet tools, and communicate effectively within professional teams. Throughout the program, students complete general education courses that enhance critical thinking, ethics, and career development, making them well-rounded and competitive graduates in the workforce.
