COURSE CURRICULUM

The Liberal Arts program curriculum offers a well-rounded foundation in social sciences, humanities, and critical thinking while gradually building specialized knowledge and practical skills. In the first semester, students begin with core courses in Psychology, Sociology, personal development, thinking and learning strategies, and college-level writing, establishing a strong base for understanding human behavior, social structures, and effective communication. The second semester expands into social science research methods, advanced psychology, Canadian history and politics, contemporary social issues, and cultural anthropology, while also allowing students to choose an elective, fostering both academic exploration and self-directed learning. In the third semester, courses in social psychology, humanities, ethics, civic engagement, and compassion-based advocacy further enhance students’ understanding of human interactions, ethical decision-making, and societal responsibilities, supplemented by an elective to personalize the program. The fourth and final semester emphasizes applied and integrative learning, including courses on philosophical perspectives, Canadian criminology, a capstone community project, and reflective study through “Looking Back and Moving Forward,” allowing students to synthesize their learning in practical, community-oriented contexts while continuing to pursue an elective of their choice. Across all semesters, the program cultivates critical thinking, research, writing, and analytical skills, providing students with the versatility to pursue further postsecondary education, careers in social sciences, or civic and community engagement roles.
