COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biomedical Engineering Technology program is structured over six semesters to provide a strong blend of engineering, healthcare, and technical skills. In the first semester, students build a foundation with Technical Mathematics I, workplace communication skills, computer applications, biomedical fundamentals, digital fundamentals, and DC circuits. The second semester advances knowledge through Technical Math II, system configuration, biomedical sciences, AC fundamentals, and Biomedical Equipment I along with an elective. In the third semester, students study Biomedical Equipment II, dialysis systems, customer service, system configuration II, biomedical electronics I, and medical terminology. The fourth semester focuses on advanced topics such as 3D design, biomedical electronics II, anatomy and physiology, Biomedical Equipment III, programming, and microcontrollers with an elective. In the fifth semester, students engage in project-based learning through Biomedical Engineering Technology Project I, healthcare technology management, medical imaging I, Biomedical Equipment IV, prosthetics, and risk management with patient safety and ethics. The final semester includes Biomedical Engineering Technology Project II, medical imaging II, Biomedical Equipment V, medical device cybersecurity and digital health, lean engineering practices, and an elective. This curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on learning and projects, preparing students for careers in maintaining and managing medical equipment in healthcare environments.
