COURSE CURRICULUM

The Software Development diploma requires 60 credits, completed through 20 courses over two years, with two to three semesters in the first year depending on whether students opt for the cooperative work term, and two semesters in the second year. The program includes a solid mix of technical and professional courses starting with foundational subjects such as Technical Communications, Introduction to Network Systems, Object-Oriented Programming (levels 1 to 3), and Web Development (levels 1 and 2). Students also study Database Design and Programming, Mobile Application Development, Software Testing and Deployment, and User Experience and Design. The curriculum covers essential software analysis, design, cloud computing, and emerging software development trends to keep learners up-to-date with industry standards. Software security and mathematics for technologists are also key components, alongside courses fostering critical thinking and project management skills. A significant highlight is the Capstone Project, which allows students to apply their knowledge in a comprehensive, practical setting. An optional cooperative work term offers real-world experience, enhancing employability.
