COURSE CURRICULUM

The Petroleum Engineering Technology diploma requires the completion of 60 credits across 24 courses over two years, with two semesters each year. The curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of petroleum engineering. Key courses include fundamentals such as Physical Geology, Petroleum Geology, and Advanced Petroleum Geology, which provide essential knowledge about subsurface resources. Core engineering subjects like Applied Petroleum Fluid Mechanics, Petroleum Engineering Mechanics, and Mathematics for Engineering & Technology deepen technical expertise. Specialized drilling courses—Fundamentals of Drilling, Advanced Well Design, and Well Programming and Operations Monitoring—prepare students for operational roles in well management. Reservoir engineering is covered progressively from Fundamentals through Intermediate to Advanced Reservoir Engineering Technology, ensuring comprehensive understanding of fluid flow and reservoir behavior. Practical skills are enhanced through courses like Petroleum Computer Applications and Professional Communications and Presentation Skills. The program also addresses important industry topics such as Health, Safety & Environment for Petroleum Operations, Surface and Sub-Surface Production Operations, Well Completions and Stimulations, and Petroleum Management. A Petroleum Industry Project course offers applied experience, integrating knowledge in a real-world context.
