COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mechanical Engineering Technology diploma consists of 60 credits completed over two years and four semesters, covering 24 courses that blend core engineering principles with specialized training. Required courses include foundational subjects such as mathematics, statistics, computing, and professional communication, alongside technical topics like Machine Design, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Power, Electro-Mechanical Systems, Manufacturing Processes, and Engineering Materials. Students also engage in project-based learning through a Capstone Project, applying their skills to real-world challenges. The program emphasizes both theoretical knowledge and hands-on application using industry-standard tools and software. After the first year, students choose one of three specialization streams: Design and Analysis, Design and Automation, or Design and Development. Each stream includes four elective courses tailored to the specialization. Design and Analysis focuses on mechanical systems, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and machine dynamics. Design and Automation includes courses in robotics, automation systems, programmable logic controllers, and control systems. Design and Development centers on product development, prototyping, and model making. This structure allows students to gain both broad-based engineering knowledge and targeted expertise, preparing them for careers in mechanical design, automation, manufacturing, and product development. The program ensures graduates are ready for immediate employment or further studies in the mechanical engineering field.
