COURSE CURRICULUM

The Interactive Design – Graphic Design diploma requires 60 credits and spans two years, divided into four semesters. The program combines a comprehensive Interactive Design core with specialized Graphic Design courses to prepare students for a successful design career. Core courses include Technical Communications, Intermediate and Introduction to Web Communications, and multiple Visual Design classes such as Intermediate Visual Design, Introduction to Visual Design, and Advanced Visual Design. Students gain hands-on experience in Design Studio 1 and 2, while exploring emerging trends in the Future of Design course. Digital media skills are developed through Digital Media Foundations and Intermediate Digital Media Production, complemented by critical thinking and product management courses to enhance problem-solving and project execution abilities. The Graphic Design core focuses on Digital Imaging, Digital Strategy, Typography, and Print Production, ensuring students are skilled in both digital and print design environments. A Capstone Project allows learners to synthesize and apply their knowledge in a real-world context. An optional Cooperative Work Term offers practical industry experience. This well-rounded curriculum equips students with the technical skills, creative insight, and strategic thinking necessary to excel in the evolving interactive and graphic design fields, ready to meet industry demands and deliver impactful, user-focused designs.
