COURSE CURRICULUM

The Information Technology Services diploma is a comprehensive two-year program requiring 60 credits across 20 courses, designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in IT services and support. The curriculum covers a broad spectrum of topics, starting with foundational courses such as Introduction to Hardware, Technical Communications, and Introduction to Networks, ensuring students build a solid understanding of IT infrastructure. More advanced networking concepts are explored in Switching and Routing Essentials, Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation, as well as Wireless Networking Fundamentals. Programming and scripting skills are developed through Object-Oriented Programming and Scripting courses, while server management and virtualization are covered in Server Fundamentals, Virtualization Fundamentals, Advanced Servers, and Intermediate Virtualization. Cloud Computing and IT Service Management provide insight into emerging industry practices, complemented by courses in IT Security Fundamentals and Intermediate IT Security to prepare students for safeguarding digital assets. The program also includes Mathematics for Technologists and Critical Thinking to support analytical skills. The capstone project offers hands-on experience to apply learned concepts. Optional cooperative work terms provide practical industry exposure.
