COURSE CURRICULUM

The Hospitality and Tourism Management – Event Management diploma requires 63 credits across 22 courses and is completed over two years with two semesters per year. The curriculum is divided into a hospitality core and an event management specialization. The hospitality core builds a strong foundation with courses such as Financial Accounting for the Hospitality Industry, Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism, Law and Ethics, Human Resource Management, and Financial Management in Hospitality. Students also develop communication and leadership skills through courses like Communication Fundamentals and Technology, Self-Awareness and Team Dynamics, and Leading High-Performance Teams. Additional core areas include marketing (Brand and Guest Experience, Service Marketing and Sales, and Marketing Strategy), economics, digital business math applications, and a professional internship. The event management specialization immerses students in practical, real-world learning. It includes Event Project Management, Live Events I and II, Event Strategy and Planning, Event Contracts and Financials, and culminates with the Event Management Capstone. These courses equip students with the skills to plan, coordinate, and execute a wide range of events while managing budgets, contracts, stakeholders, and logistics.
