COURSE CURRICULUM

The Health Information Management diploma requires the completion of 61.5 credits across 25 courses over two years, spanning three semesters each year. The curriculum is designed to provide a strong foundation in healthcare data management, beginning with courses such as Anatomy and Applied Terminology and Medical Terminology to build essential healthcare knowledge. Students advance through a series of Data Classification courses that develop their skills in organizing and managing health information effectively. Technical expertise is enhanced through courses in Healthcare Information Technology, Database Design, MS Access Database, and Healthcare Data Queries, ensuring proficiency with industry-specific software and digital tools. Hands-on experience is gained via two practicum placements, totaling nine credits, which provide valuable real-world training in healthcare settings.
