COURSE CURRICULUM

The Geomatics Engineering Technology diploma requires 60 credits across 20 courses completed over two years, with two semesters each year. The curriculum is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of geomatics principles and hands-on skills. Courses such as Geomatics CADD Applications and Geomatics Drafting focus on computer-aided design and drafting techniques essential for spatial data representation. Mapping Fundamentals and Geodesy and Map Projections cover the basics of mapping and understanding the earth’s geometric shape and projections. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and 3D Modeling courses teach the management and visualization of geographic data, while Photogrammetry introduces precise measurement techniques using aerial and satellite imagery. Math courses, including Math for Engineering and Technology I and II, build the analytical foundation necessary for geomatics work. Surveying courses cover practical land surveying methods, satellite positioning, and measurement analysis, with advanced topics like Remote Sensing, Applications in Geomatics Engineering, and Cadastral Surveying further enhancing technical expertise. The program culminates in a Capstone Project that integrates all learned skills in a real-world geomatics engineering context.
