The Electrical Engineering Technology diploma requires 67.5 credits across 25 courses, which can be completed full-time in two years or part-time over three years through a blended evening and weekend format. The curriculum covers a broad range of essential topics, starting with foundational courses like Electrical Practices, Digital & Electronic Circuits, and Mathematics for Technologists. Students learn advanced electrical design principles through courses such as Electrical Design Principles and Industrial Electrical Design, while gaining practical skills in machine applications, rotating machines, transformers, and power electronics. Specialized courses on PLC programming, including Premium Unity Pro and Contrologix Applications, prepare students to work with automation and control systems. The program also includes studies in power system analysis, protection and control, and generation and grid operations, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of electrical power systems and smart grid technology. Technical communication skills are developed through two dedicated courses, enhancing professional effectiveness.
