COURSE CURRICULUM

The Civil Engineering Technology diploma program consists of 24 courses totaling 61.5 credits, offered through fall and winter intakes. Students starting in the fall follow a traditional schedule with summer breaks, while winter intake students complete four consecutive semesters with short breaks in between. The curriculum blends core civil engineering fundamentals with specialized construction management training. Core courses cover essential topics such as Civil Drafting, Soil Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Estimating, Surveying, Concrete Technology, and Statics. Students also build a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, communications, and digital technologies. In the Construction Management stream, students delve deeper into advanced subjects like Contracts and Regulations, Project Planning and Control, Geotechnical Design, Environmental Engineering, and Building Science. Structural design is thoroughly explored through courses in Steel, Concrete, and Wood Design. Economic aspects of construction are addressed in Estimating II and Construction Economics, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of both technical and financial project components. The program culminates in the CVT Capstone Project, allowing students to apply their skills to real-world scenarios. With strong technical, managerial, and practical components, the program prepares graduates for a variety of roles in civil engineering and construction management, including site supervision, project coordination, and infrastructure design.
