COURSE CURRICULUM

The Chemical Engineering Technology diploma program consists of 24 required courses totaling 61.5 credits, completed over two years with two semesters each year. The curriculum provides a balanced mix of theoretical and practical learning across key areas of chemical engineering. Core science and engineering concepts are covered through courses such as Engineering Chemistry I and II, Thermodynamics, Heat and Mass Transfer, and Chemical Engineering Calculations. Practical skills are developed in labs and applied courses like Unit Operations Laboratory, Process Computer Simulation Lab, Analytical Instrumentation, and Instrumentation and Process Control. Students also gain valuable industry-relevant software experience in Flow Diagram Development and AutoCAD, along with technical communication and project management skills through Professional Communications and Technical Project Management courses. Foundational knowledge is reinforced with Math for Engineering & Technology I & II, Statistics, and Computer Fundamentals. Specialized topics like Environmental Engineering and Management, Petroleum Production, and Occupational Health & Safety broaden industry insight. The program culminates in an Energy Capstone Project, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios. With its strong technical foundation and applied focus, the program equips graduates for diverse roles in chemical processing, environmental technology, process design, and related sectors.
