COURSE CURRICULUM

The Nuclear Medicine Technology diploma program spans two and a half years and includes 25 courses totaling 72 credits, offering a thorough blend of theoretical instruction and practical clinical training. Students begin with foundational knowledge in courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Infection Prevention and Control, and Radiation Physics. The program provides in-depth training in nuclear medicine-specific topics through Clinical Procedures 1 and 2, Instrumentation, Radiopharmacy 1 and 2, and Quality Control 1 and 2. Hands-on skills are further developed in Applied Clinical Procedures 1 and 2, Patient Care, and Clinical Integration 1 and 2, ensuring students are confident in real-world settings. Computed Tomography 1 and 2, along with Positron Emission Tomography, broaden the scope of diagnostic imaging expertise. Emphasis is placed on professional development through Professional Practice 1 and 2, Research in Allied Health, and courses in Radiation Protection. Students gain valuable clinical experience through three practicum placements, where they apply their skills in supervised healthcare environments. This well-rounded curriculum prepares graduates for certification and licensure, enabling them to pursue careers as nuclear medicine technologists in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and research or teaching facilities, with the knowledge and skills to provide safe, accurate, and effective patient care using advanced nuclear imaging techniques.
