COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accounting certificate requires the completion of 30 credits across 10 courses, with the Business Certificate Capstone (MNGT 257) taken only after all required and elective courses are finished. The program covers foundational and intermediate accounting skills essential for careers in finance and business management. Core courses include ACCT 215 and ACCT 255, which introduce financial accounting principles, followed by ACCT 315 for intermediate financial accounting. Students also study introductory management accounting in ACCT 338 and gain practical skills in computer accounting software through ACCT 395. Complementing these are courses like BCMP 225, which focuses on business productivity tools and technology, and MNGT 200, an introduction to business fundamentals. Electives allow students to tailor their learning by choosing two courses from options such as ACCT 350 (Intermediate Financial Accounting II), ACCT 380 (Intermediate Management Accounting), COMN 220 (Communication and Presentation Skills), MNGT 321 (Project Management), MNGT 322 (Information Systems), and STAT 270 (Quantitative Methods).
