COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Technology in Cyber Security program requires 60 credits, comprising 20 courses completed over two years with two semesters each year. The curriculum includes a Cyber Security core of 30 credits across 10 senior-level courses, covering essential topics such as data communications, network security, ethical hacking, computational thinking, computer architecture, data structures, cryptography, cybersecurity auditing, policy, and management. Complementary core courses total 18 credits, including six senior-level courses in intercultural communications, discrete mathematics, ethics, systems thinking, and research methodologies, alongside a junior-level quantitative methods course. Students also select electives totaling 12 credits, which include three junior-level electives from humanities, science, and social sciences, such as critical reading, environmental science, or psychology, and one senior-level elective from options like presentations, creative non-fiction storytelling, philosophy, or technology and society. An optional co-op work placement provides practical experience without credit. This comprehensive blend of technical, ethical, and communication-focused courses ensures graduates are well-equipped to anticipate, detect, and mitigate cyber threats while understanding broader social and ethical contexts. The program’s industry-driven approach emphasizes real-world skills, preparing students for successful careers in cybersecurity with a strong foundation in both theory and practice.
