COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management degree requires 60 credits, completed over two years with two semesters each year, encompassing 20 courses. Core required courses cover a broad range of essential topics such as intercultural communications, financial management in hospitality and tourism, health and safety, leadership, hospitality design and development, marketing from concept to creation, project management, operational data and analytics, critical thinking, ethics, quantitative methods, research methodologies, global tourism, tourism policy and planning, sustainability in hospitality and tourism, and a capstone course that integrates learning from the entire program. In addition to these core courses, students select electives from various junior humanities options like history of architecture, critical reading and writing, or ethics in technology, junior science electives such as environmental science for sustainability and health sciences, and junior social science electives including indigenous studies, psychology, sociology, or pop culture. There are also senior-level humanities or social sciences electives available, including storytelling through creative non-fiction, comparative world literature, creativity and innovation, the philosophy of money, technology and society, society and the workplace, and conformity and deviance in the workplace. This comprehensive mix of courses ensures students graduate with a well-rounded education, ready to excel in diverse roles within the hospitality and tourism industries.
