COURSE CURRICULUM

Sheridan’s Data Analytics program provides a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills to analyze, interpret, and visualize data for strategic decision-making across industries. In Semester 1, students develop foundational knowledge in workplace communications, professional presentations, organizational fundamentals, and competency development, alongside an introduction to data analytics and information systems. Semester 2 deepens technical expertise through courses in statistics and data analytics, databases, data governance, applied data analytics with AI and cloud platforms, project and performance management, applied visualization platforms, and creative applications in innovation. Semester 3 focuses on applied learning, emphasizing strategic and ethical decision-making, specialized analytics for marketing, sales, logistics, finance, and HR, and the development of a capstone project to synthesize skills in data visualization, AI, and cloud analytics. Students also engage in career preparation, ensuring readiness for professional practice. Semester 4 offers a co-op work term, providing 360 hours of real-world experience and the opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a practical setting. Throughout the program, students gain proficiency in tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, R, SQL, and cloud platforms including Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud, enabling them to transform complex data into actionable insights. Graduates leave prepared to contribute as data analysts, strategic advisers, and decision-makers, with both technical and professional competencies for high-demand roles.
