COURSE CURRICULUM

In this program, you will engage in a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop your leadership and management skills within the Canadian healthcare system. The first semester focuses on foundational topics including workplace communication, engagement and productivity in the future of work, creativity and innovation, financial management strategies tailored for sustainable leadership, and an introduction to the Canadian healthcare system, totaling 15 credits. In the second semester, you will deepen your understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance, explore innovative leadership models and strategies, develop essential management skills for operational excellence, and study change management in future-ready healthcare systems. You will also learn to harness analytics for evidence-informed decision making and examine the integration of AI and machine learning in healthcare, completing 18 credits. The third semester prepares you to lead sustainable transformation through change management, enhance healthcare quality and safety standards, master critical appraisal techniques, and foster equity, diversity, inclusion, and cultural humility in healthcare leadership. You will also focus on people, culture, and performance management, with 16 credits in total, including preparation for your field placement. The final semester provides a practical healthcare leadership field placement, integrating your knowledge of management, strategy, and innovation with real-world experience. Additionally, you will develop leadership coaching and collaboration skills essential for healthcare leaders, completing 4 credits. Throughout the program, you will combine theoretical knowledge with practical application, preparing you to become a compassionate, innovative leader ready to navigate and transform complex healthcare environments for improved patient outcomes and organizational success.
