COURSE CURRICULUM

The FinTech graduate certificate at Sheridan College offers a well-structured curriculum across two semesters, combining finance, technology, and business skills. In the first semester, students build a strong foundation through courses such as Financial Technology in Canada, Introduction to FinTech Platforms, AI and Data Analytics in FinTech, and Risk, Regulation and Cybersecurity. They also study Finance Fundamentals to strengthen core financial knowledge, along with Digital Literacy and Presentations to improve communication skills, and Business Competencies and Capstone Preparation to get ready for applied projects. The second semester focuses on advanced and practical learning, including Advanced FinTech Platforms and Decentralized Finance (DeFi), which explore modern financial systems and blockchain-based technologies. Students also take Strategic Business Analysis and Innovation and FinTech Ventures and Careers to understand industry trends and entrepreneurial opportunities. Ethics, Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility are included to ensure responsible decision-making in financial environments. The program concludes with an Integrated Industry Capstone: FinTech, where students apply their knowledge to real-world problems. An optional co-op education forum provides additional industry exposure. Overall, the program balances technical expertise, business strategy, and hands-on experience to prepare students for careers in the evolving FinTech sector.
