Sheridan’s Digital Product Design post-graduate certificate program offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum that equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the fast-growing field of user experience and digital product design. Delivered over two semesters, the program emphasizes a user-centered and inclusive approach to design while fostering practical and strategic capabilities. In the first semester, students focus on foundational skills, beginning with User-Centred Research Methods, which teaches techniques for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting user data, and continuing with Digital Product Design Strategy to understand how design decisions align with business goals. Courses in Inclusive Digital Product Design and User Experience Design: Fundamentals ensure students can create accessible, effective, and engaging digital products while developing proficiency in key UX principles and methodologies. The second semester builds on this foundation with User Experience Design: Emerging Approaches, exploring advanced and innovative design methods, and Prototyping and Workflow Methods, which emphasizes iterative development and effective project management. Students also gain expertise in Usability and Data-Driven Design, learning to evaluate products using metrics and feedback, and culminate their learning in the Digital Product Design Workshop, a capstone experience that integrates research, strategy, prototyping, and user testing. By the end of the program, graduates have a strong portfolio, industry-relevant skills, and the practical experience necessary to succeed in diverse digital design roles.
