COURSE CURRICULUM

Clinical Kinesiology graduate certificate program features a carefully designed course structure that blends theoretical knowledge with extensive hands-on experience. In Semester 1, students take Kinesiology Professional Practice (3 credits), where they learn foundational concepts related to ethics, scope of practice and the role of a clinical kinesiologist. Foundations of Clinical Kinesiology (2 credits) introduces students to applied kinesiology concepts, while Advanced Physical Assessment (2 credits) equips them with essential evaluation techniques used in clinical settings. The Kinesiology Integrative Practice 1 course (6 credits) is a cornerstone of the semester, emphasizing the integration of clinical reasoning, exercise prescription, and client care strategies. Students also begin their field experience with Field Placement 1 (1 credit), gaining exposure to real-world client interactions. Semester 2 continues the hands-on learning with Kinesiology Business/Entrepreneurship (3 credits), focusing on clinic management, marketing, and business planning. Kinesiology Integrative Practice 2 (7 credits) builds on the first semester by advancing clinical decision-making and treatment planning, while Field Placement 2 (1 credit) allows students to apply these skills in increasingly complex environments. In the final semester, students complete Field Placement 3 (1 credit), culminating in a total of 728 hours of supervised clinical experience across all placements.
