COURSE CURRICULUM

Sheridan’s Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with both foundational and advanced skills in AI, data science, and machine learning. In the one-year track, Semester 1 covers core topics including an introduction to AI, data science, big data storage and analysis, data visualization, advanced Python for AI and ML, and standards and practices in the Canadian IT industry, totaling 19 credits. For the two-year track, Semester 1 introduces Python programming for AI, workplace communication, technology in the Canadian economy, the future of work, and an elective in either creativity and innovation or career toolkit development, providing 18 credits. Semester 2 builds on these foundations with courses in AI, data science, big data analysis and storage, data visualization, and advanced Python for AI and ML, totaling 16 credits. Semester 3 focuses on applied AI, covering AI and natural language processing, neural networks and deep learning, social media data mining and analysis, ethics and responsible AI, and a capstone project integrating machine learning concepts, complemented by work-term and career preparation, totaling 17 credits. Semester 4 offers a co-op work term or simulation, providing one credit and practical industry experience. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on expertise in AI tools, programming, and data-driven decision-making, preparing them for careers as AI developers, data analysts, and machine learning specialists in diverse industries.
