COURSE CURRICULUM

The Theatre Production program offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum that develops technical expertise across all major production disciplines. In Semester 1, students build foundational skills in scenic construction, sewing, scenic art, props, lighting, audio and stagecraft, supported by a theatre histories elective. Semester 2 expands into rigging, CAD drafting and introductory technical production, while students choose specialized beginner courses in scenic construction, costume skills, props, lighting plots, sound design or management. Semester 3 focuses on technical production, advanced CAD, set design and employment practices, complemented by elective options such as scenic applications, finishes, pattern drafting, properties, lighting equipment, live sound, stage management or technical management. Semester 4 deepens learning through advanced technical production and electives that explore scenic architecture, pattern drafting, properties, lighting design, audio, stage management or management fundamentals. Semester 5 emphasizes production management and allows students to select advanced electives in areas like structural design, scenic art, costume construction, theatre properties, lighting or sound, along with either a production role or field placement. In the final semester, students study live event production and complete two major production roles or placements, ensuring real-world experience and readiness for professional technical theatre careers.
