COURSE CURRICULUM

The Visual and Creative Arts program offers a structured progression of foundational and advanced studio courses designed to build strong artistic and technical skills. In Semester 1, students develop core competencies through Observational Drawing, 2D and 3D Design, Introduction to Painting, Colour Theory and Essential Communication Skills, totaling 18 credits. Semester 2 deepens these skills with Figure Drawing, advanced 2D and 3D Design, Painting, Design Drawing and a General Education elective, again totaling 18 credits. In Semester 3, students begin to customize their artistic direction by choosing between Figurative or Interpretive Drawing, and selecting from studio options in 2D Design, Surface Design, Figurative Sculpture or 3D Design Studio. They also complete required courses such as Painting: Media and Materials, Digital Media Lab and Art and Design History, bringing the semester to 18 credits. Semester 4 offers extensive flexibility, allowing students to choose five specialized studio courses from options like Figurative or Interpretive Drawing and Painting Studios, Surface Design, Figurative Sculpture, Material Exploration, Digital Media Studio, Digital Drawing and Painting or Techno Craft. A General Education elective completes the 18-credit term. Together, these courses provide a well-rounded education that strengthens creative abilities, technical expertise and professional readiness.
