Veterinary Technician program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare students for a career in veterinary medicine through creative and innovative learning. In the first semester, students begin with foundational courses such as Veterinary Anatomy & Physiology 1, Veterinary Lab Techniques 1: Parasitology, Animal Handling and Behaviour, Introduction to Veterinary Technology, Essential Communication Skills, and Veterinary Technician Pharmaceutical Math, complemented by a general education elective, totaling 26 credits. The second semester builds on this foundation with Veterinary Anatomy & Physiology 2, Veterinary Lab Techniques 2: Urinalysis & Microbiology, Introduction to Veterinary Nursing Techniques, Veterinary Pharmacology, Veterinary Radiography & Diagnostic Imaging, and the first Veterinary Technician Practicum, adding up to 24 credits. The third semester includes courses like Companion Animal Nutrition, Introduction to Veterinary Anesthesia & Surgical Nursing Techniques, Advanced Veterinary Nursing Techniques, Veterinary Lab Techniques 3: Hematology and Cytology, Veterinary Dentistry, a general education elective, and a second practicum, totaling 24 credits. In the final semester, students take Laboratory Animal Health Studies, Exotic Animal Health Studies, Advanced Veterinary Surgical Nursing Techniques, Veterinary Clinical Pathology, Large Animal Health Studies, Animal Diseases, a professional practice practicum, and a general education elective, for a total of 27 credits.
