COURSE CURRICULUM

Sheridan’s Pre-Health Sciences certificate program offers a carefully structured curriculum designed to provide students with a solid foundation in health sciences while fostering creative and innovative learning. In the first semester, students take essential courses including Human Biology, Essential Mathematics for the Health Sciences, Introductory Chemistry 1, Principles of Academic Writing and Research, and a College Success course focused on health, along with a General Education elective, totaling 17 credits. These courses build core knowledge in biology, chemistry, math, and communication skills critical for success in health-related fields. In the second semester, students continue to deepen their scientific understanding through courses like Fundamentals of Anatomy and Physiology, Applied Physics, Introductory Chemistry 2, and Rhetoric and Argument Across Disciplines. Additionally, they engage in Virtual Reality Explorations for the Pre-Health Sciences, which offers a modern and interactive approach to learning. Students also choose between Statistics for Health Sciences or Advanced Functions and Data Modelling, depending on their interests and future academic goals, bringing the semester’s total to 17 credits. This comprehensive program not only equips students with fundamental academic skills but also exposes them to cutting-edge technologies and analytical methods relevant to the health sciences.
