COURSE CURRICULUM

The Project Management – Information Technology graduate certificate is an eight-month program structured over two semesters, designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to manage IT projects effectively. In the first semester, students build foundational competencies through courses such as Diverse and Distributed Project Teams Communication Skills, IT Project Management Fundamentals, Tools and Techniques, Business Systems Environments, Project Leadership, Introduction to Scrum Body of Knowledge, and System Development Lifecycle and IT Strategy Alignment. These courses provide essential knowledge of project planning, team dynamics, agile methodologies, system development, and IT strategy, ensuring students can lead projects in complex technology environments. The second semester advances this foundation with courses including Finance for IT Project Managers, Advanced IT Project Management, Contract Law, Ethics and IT Professionalism, Project Management Office Governance and Sustainability, Applied IT Project Management, and Quality Assurance and Testing in IT Projects, offering deeper insights into financial management, legal and ethical considerations, governance, quality assurance, and practical application of IT project management principles. A Work Term Preparation course and an optional Work-Integrated Learning term through PMC441 provide hands-on industry experience, allowing students to apply their learning in professional IT settings and build practical skills and networks. Overall, the program integrates theoretical knowledge, methodological expertise, and experiential learning to prepare graduates to lead IT projects efficiently, drive organizational success, and adapt to rapidly evolving technology landscapes.
