COURSE CURRICULUM

The Project Management – Environmental graduate certificate program is an eight-month curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in project development and management within the environmental and civil engineering sectors. Structured over two semesters, the program combines foundational knowledge with applied industry experience to ensure graduates are ready for professional roles. In the first semester, students build core skills through courses such as Applied Communications for Business and Industry, The Sustainability Matrix, Introduction to Internship, Business Principles, Project Management Fundamentals, and Planning and Controlling the Baseline. These courses provide essential knowledge in project planning, scheduling, resource management, sustainability principles, and professional communication. The second semester advances students’ expertise with courses including Geographic Information Systems and Data Management, Environmental Law, Civil Infrastructure, Applied Project Management II, Environmental Management Systems, and Environmental Risk Management, offering in-depth exposure to technical, regulatory, and risk-based aspects of environmental project management. The program emphasizes practical application, culminating in hands-on experience through mentored projects or internships, allowing students to integrate classroom learning with real-world challenges.
