COURSE CURRICULUM

The Human Resources Strategy and Technology graduate certificate is an eight-month program that provides practical and comprehensive training in key areas of human resources management. In the first semester, students take courses such as Introduction to Human Resources Management, Data Analytics for HR, Occupational Health and Safety, Compensation Plans, HR Information Systems, Business Foundations, and the Legal Environment. These courses develop essential knowledge in employee relations, compliance, safety, HR technology, and legal considerations. The second semester emphasizes strategic planning and real-world application through courses like Human Resources Planning and Development, Recruitment and Selection Techniques, Training Techniques and Practices, Industrial Relations, Financial and Management Accounting, and Business Management and Organizational Behaviour. Students also complete a Human Resources Integrated Project that brings together the skills and concepts acquired throughout the program. For those in the Work-Integrated Learning stream, a Work Term Preparation course is required before beginning the Human Resource Management Work Term, which offers valuable industry experience in a professional HR setting. The program is designed for flexibility, with most courses available in hybrid, online, or flexible formats, allowing students to tailor their schedules. Graduates are prepared for careers in various HR functions, including talent acquisition, compensation, employee relations, and HR analytics.
